Cote D’Ivoire Equity Market | 31 Aug 2015: BRVM bourse equities US$28 million lower …
Abidjan, Cote d’Ivoire (Capital Markets in Africa):- BRVM (The Regional Stock Exchange of eight West Africa) closed its trading session this Monday, lower than the previous day. BRVM 10 index decreased from 299.23 to 298.02 points, a drop of 0.40 percent. BRVM Composite index lost 0.22 percent to 296.33 against 296.98 points previously.
The equity market capitalization plunged by XOF 16 billion (about US$28 million) to close at XOF 7,312 billion relative to previous trading sessions’ market capitalization of XOF 7,328 billion.
The market activity measured by total volume was recorded at 25,668 traded stocks relative to 21,937 recorded at previous trading sessions. The total traded value was at XOF 679.512 million (against XOF 507.837 million recorded at previous trading session) exchanged in 30 traded securities via 284 deals. Today’s top stock by volume was ECOBANK TRANSNATIONAL INCORPORATED TOGO with 10,591 traded securities (accounted for almost 87 percent of the total volume). VIVO ENERGY COTE D’IVOIRE recorded the highest total traded value of XOF 158.484 million contributing nearly about 30 percent of total traded value. The Liquidity ratio (measured by Volume traded/ Ask orders volume) ended at 7.15 percent and Price Earnings Ratio was recorded at 23.44.
Out of the 30 traded securities today, 13 stocks experienced price gains, 8 witnessed price drops and 9 stocks price remained unchanged relative to previous closing price. VIVO ENERGY COTE D’IVOIRE emerged as the top price mover by soaring by 5.03 percent to end at XOF 71,000. AIR LIQUIDE COTE D’IVOIRE grew by 4.17 percent at XOF 20,000 and SAPH COTE D’IVOIRE traded at XOF 12,500 after jumping by 4.17 percent. UNILEVER COTE D’IVOIRE share price surged by 3.43 percent to close at XOF 27,000 and BANK OF AFRICA COTE D’IVOIRE ended at XOF 121,000 with 2.54 percent gains.
CROWN SIEM COTE D’IVOIRE plummeted by 7.41 percent to settle at XOF 25,000 as the biggest loser and MOVIS COTE D’IVOIRE slumped by 6.98 percent to close at XOF 5,000. Likewise, BOLLORE AFRICA LOGISTIC COTE D’IVOIRE plummeted by 2.37 percent to close at XOF 185,500 and PALM COTE D’IVOIRE crashed by 1.94 percent to trade at XOF 15,200. FILTISAC COTE D’IVOIRE traded at XOF 27,500 after crashing by 1.79 percent.
From the sector indices viewpoints, the industry sector index rose by 0.21 percent at 162.42 points but public utilities sector index climbed by 0.84 percent to end at 806.39 points. The distribution sector index surged by 0.72 percent to end at 556.31 points and financial services sector index gained 0.49 percent to end at 109.63 points. The Agriculture sector index went up by 2.47 percent to trade at 200.72 points. Transportation sector index fell by 2.47 to end at 903.74 but miscellaneous sector index remained steady at XOF 561.79 points.
